2024 Line-Up Here!
As you know, music is part of the curriculum that is struggling to survive in our schools today, especially after the recent COVID Pandemic lockdowns that have devastated our music programs in our public schools throughout the North Bay Counties. Music is a theory of multiple intelligences helping our cognitive processes in math and reading. It also touches, heals and soothes our soul!
You can help our children, and our local community, keep this important part of education by participating in a fun exciting VJS free fundraiser event featuring the talent of young rock musicians from Live Music Center Rock Bands, which will open for Northern California’s # 1 Santana Tribute band “Viva Santana Show” located at Vacaville Performing Arts Theater, in Vacaville on September 21st, 2024 from 7pm to 9pm. Tickets sold will be sold at the VPAT to help fund the Vaca Jazz Society Jazz Workshops and Jazz Camp for kids from 12 to18 years of age in Solano County. VJS Workshops , VJS Jazz honor band, Dancers and various high school bands will be attending and performing throughout the day at the VPAT from 11am to 5pm on 9-21-24.

Ken Stout ” President of the Vaca Jazz Society”
Our biggest and best-known undertaking is the annual Vacaville Jazz Festival, which has been held on the 3rd weekend of September since established in 1999.VJS has now expanded citywide with the festival at three main venue locations: Downtown Vacaville Town Square, Nut Tree Family Park & Village, and the Vacaville Performing Arts Theater.
Last year's festival was a great success, with shows all weekend long at 6 different venues. Many local businesses and major sponsors were instrumental in providing financial resources to help offset some of the costs of this event. We are incredibly grateful to all who contributed to help us put on our successful annual festival.

It's About Time
It's About Time, a “big band” or “swing band” based in Davis, was formed in September 1996. Amazingly, in our diverse and mobile society, several of the original members are still playing with the band today. In addition to playing many of the stock,
swing arrangements of the Big Band Era, the band's repertoire has expanded to include more Latin tunes and contemporary pieces. The band features a vocalist and many of its musicians in improvisational solos.
