AMO SWING’S INTO CHRISTMAS!
Alive Music Orchestra swings into their 20th AMO Christmas
show. Part of the
Friday December 16th Alive Music Orchestra Christmas show
at Valley Church in Vacaville, will incorporate traditional sing-along
carols and popular Christmas songs made famous by a host of
celebrity singers (Bing
Crosby,
Elvis Presley,
Nat King Cole,
etc.), meant to
remind people that the holidays are a
season of peace, family and most importantly the miraculous
birth of
Christ says Stout, a trumpeter and AMO music director
celebrating their group’s upcoming 20th Anniversary.
Enjoy
Mike Cherry of Sapo Guapo Latin Band,
Golden West band director Robert Honeychurch,
big band vocalist Pastor Frank
Salamone of Dixon Cornerstone Church,
vocalist Pete Ayers, Fairfield
Civic Theater’s
Barbara McFadden, as well
as
Keith
Stout’s family: Ken, Martha, Brett,
Art and Julie Stout and Chris Grokenberger.
As it has in
years past, the AMO show
incorporates an American tradition originally founded
by Bob Hope’s USO Christmas tours overseas, honoring and
entertaining our
troops.
"We always include a special
dedication to our troops and their families, praying for a safe return
home," says Stout, an Air Force "brat" whose father served in Vietnam,
"That's something we feel strongly about, especially around Christmas
time.” “Te AMO
Christmas” will include stories of hope hosted by AMO's Chaplain Stan
Suderow, encouraging
families about love, peace and the miracle of the
Christmas season, especially, enlight of these uncertain economic
times.
The AMO Christmas show will celebrate
two decades of Christmas and is dedicated to past and present AMO
musicians, vocalist, actors, and crews serving the community for the
past twenty years.
The Vaca Jazz Society thanks their
dedicated sponsors, military and civilian volunteers for making 2011 a
successful year, helping to “Save Our Music” citywide Festival
locations and youth music camps held by Solano County
Library-Vacaville Town Square.
Next year, the Society’s 13th Annual
“Free” Vacaville Jazz Festival will continue to be held citywide at
downtown and Nut Tree venues on September 14th thru 16th. The Society
thanks the local businesses listed on VacaJazz.com website for their
gifted sponsorships continuing to support our traditional family
event, which annually incorporates the festival’s Annual Military
Tribute on Gospel Jazz Sunday.
AMO will accept love offering
donations at the end of program, which proceeds goes towards the Vaca
Jazz Society's "Free" weekly Youth Music Camps under the direction of
Mr. Jim Lucas, held at the Town Square
Public Library benefiting our young
teenage students each year from the
months of August and September. VJS is passionate that the gift of
music enriches our kids life keeping them out of harms way.
